IMPLANTABLE COLLAMER LENSES (ICLS) ARE USED FOR THOSE PATIENTS WHO ARE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR LASIK. This recommendation could be due to the strength of your prescription, the thickness of your cornea, or other individual vision needs. The ICL is a soft, flexible lens that is inserted into the eye to correct nearsightedness with or without astigmatism. ICLs are implanted between the iris and the existing lens without altering the eye's existing structure and offer clear, uncorrected vision to those who otherwise had no other option but to wear thick glasses or specialty contact lenses.
